FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is 100+ Men Who Care Central Oregon a non-profit?
No, we are simply a group of men who get together four times a year help support local charities. There are no membership dues and 100% of our donations go directly to the winning charities. 100MWCCO does not process any payments, all donations are made directly to the charities.
Do I have to do any additional volunteer work or fundraising to be a member of this group?
Nope. Your obligation as a member is to attend four one-hour meetings per year and sign up for our electronic payment system that will automatically draw your $100 after each quarter’s meeting.
What if I cannot attend a meeting?
The organization benefits from having as many people as possible attend our meetings. But if you can’t be there, no worries. Our electronic payment system is set up to automatically draw your $100 donation following our quarterly meetings.
What if the charity chosen to receive the donations is not my first choice? Do I still have to donate?
One of the requirements for membership is that you agree to donate to whichever charity receives the majority vote. We make sure all the charities nominated meet our guidelines and that they do good work here in Central Oregon!
Can’t I just send my donation to the charity myself?
The goal of the 100+ Men Who Care organization is to make a large donation on behalf of the group. We want to be able to support this endeavor and give $10,000+ at a time to make a large impact on our community, with each member’s donation being a part of the larger donation.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Charitable donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are tax deductible but we encourage you to contact your tax advisor or visit the IRS website for further information.
How long do the meetings last?
We promise to keep the meetings to no longer than 60 minutes. We’ll have an cocktail hour before the meetings, and we encourage you to celebrate your good works with more socializing after the meetings!
